x2VOL Helps Student with College

Making it Easy to Serve
PaperCity
January 28, 2013

For Taylor Rodman, recent 2012 Booker T. Washington High School graduate, finding and logging community service hours was daunting before discovering x2VOL, a program from Dallas-area education technology company IntelliVOL. The program, created and run by Ursuline alum and current Preston Hollow resident Michele Pitman, not only helped Rodman find and keep track of her local service hours, but it also gave her the extra edge she needed to get in to The Boston Conservatory, where plans to graduate with a BFA in dance by spring 2016.

I'm Back!

It was a long recovery but I am back to work and feeling terrific! I had a viral infection of the central nervous system. What started out as back pain and general malaise progressed into something that felt like Shingles but was more aggressive. The doctors aren't entirely sure I had Shingles but they have confirmed that at least two viruses took hold of my nervous system and could not be eradicated with traditional means.

Thanks to the care of two very smart doctors who combined holistic and traditional medical techniques, I'm back to my old self. In fact, I've been riding my bike for three months now and have been slowly adding new responsibilities since September. I am working with two clients at the moment and will limit my docket until the end of winter. I'll be looking for 1-2 more clients starting in early Spring.

Enjoying my nephew's wedding with our cute kids!
Thank you for your prayers and well wishes. Yes, I believe whole-heartedly in prayer and the power of Christ! I am thankful to Him for finding me the right doctors and for keeping me feisty enough to challenge the crummy ones!

Medical Leave

Readers may have noticed that I have been conspicuously absent since October 2011. I am currently taking leave of absence due to a long-standing illness. My condition is not serious but I am dealing with an extremely difficult virus and complications that developed due to a delayed diagnosis. Because I have been so ill, I was not able to provide my customary high level of service and commitment to my clients so have recommended they seek PR counsel from another professional.

My condition has been gradually improving starting in late January but there is still a very long way to go. In addition to getting lots of rest, I will take this time to immerse myself in the every-changing world of social media. I have been reading numerous public relations and public education case studies. I will continue to stay abreast of my industry specialties. This is a great time to learn, learn, learn!

Thank you for your understanding.
